This is why we can't have nice things!

I finally got Sidewalk Bingo up and running how I wanted. I opened public registration so maybe real people would try it too. Wouldn't that be fun?

Instead I get a bunch of bots making accounts. Each new registration is sent an activation email and now the email send service I use is flagging this domain as 18% bounce rate and 2% spam rate.

Like, why? What could possibly be gained from creating accounts on every single system they find? From what I've read captchas aren't really helping very much anymore. Do you have any ideas that could help?
